Our guide to the Helford River

The Helford River has long been a sought after location as it offers both peace and quiet as well as an abundance of outdoor and lifestyle activities.

For sailing and boating enthusiasts, the river offers a great place to mess about in boats with many creeks to explore as well as access out to some of the best sailing waters in the country in Falmouth Bay. The area was made famous by Daphne Du Maurier with her famous novel Frenchman’s Creek. For keen gardeners, the beautiful Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens offer outstanding collections of exotic plants shrubs and trees. Other activities in the area include golf and tennis at the Buddock Vean Hotel and nearby Falmouth, as well as many amazing beaches.
